There is an ongoing severe blood shortage, and healthy individuals are needed to donate now to help people counting on lifesaving blood. For more information or to make an appointment […] The Art Center in Corvallis hosts a free drop-in afternoon of art making from 1 to 4 pm on the second Saturday of each month. All supplies are provided, and all ages and experience levels are welcome. Different themes or techniques are featured each month. More information and instructions HERE. GRASP provides assistance and support for individuals who have experienced the loss of someone they care about, as a result of substance use. GRASP meets on the 1st Thursday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church at 1685 West 13th Avenue in Eugene. For more information, call 541-654-7733. Lane County Master Gardeners, a part of the OSU Extension Service, are holding gardening classes through November 1st. Topics include pruning, composting, and growing, herbs, flowers, and vegetables. Classes are being held in Creswell, Springfield, Eugene, Florence, and Oakridge. Registration is required for each class. Information and registration HERE. Oregon Community Programs is seeking foster families for LGBTQIA+ young teenagers, who are over-represented in the foster care system and who face unique vulnerability because of discrimination and rejection. Applicant families must be able to provide affirming experiences to safeguard the health, safety, and well-being of queer youth, to help them develop the resilience needed […] Eugene's Native American Arts and Crafts Makers sponsor the First Sunday Native American Arts and Crafts Market from 10 am to 4 pm, each month, at the Farmer's Market Pavilion at 85 East 8th Avenue in Eugene. The Black Cultural Initiative in Eugene is conducting gardening classes from now until November 1st at various times and dates. Participants do not have to attend every class. See registration, dates, and times below. U of O's Museum of Natural and Cultural History presents Indigenous Queer art and history, exhibited from 5/16/25 to 1/4/26. More information HERE. Daisy CHAIN is a nonprofit in Lane County providing free services to support pre and post pregnancy, sexual health, and parenting. For information on donating, volunteering, or receiving services, click HERE. The Trauma Intervention Program of Lane County is a non-profit dedicated to supporting those experiencing emergencies or emotional traumas. Trained volunteers are available 24 hours a day with emotional and practical support to supplement the services of law enforcement, fire, and hospital personnel to assist survivors, families, friends, and witnesses. The City of Eugene is sponsoring an LGBTQ Youth Group at the Amazon Community Center from 4 to 6 pm on Fridays. This free confidential group is for queer teens ages 13 to 18 and includes support and referrals. More information HERE. |
