Jimmy grew up in Roseburg and played cornet in school band. He also listened all day to a Top 40 radio station there during the 1960’s and always wondered what it would be like to be a DJ. He got his chance in 1980 to spin records for an easy listening radio station. He moved to Eugene in 1981 and almost immediately discovered KRVM. He attended the University of Oregon and graduated with a degree in Telecommunications and Film. It wasn’t until 2021, after working in television for 37 years, that he started volunteering for KRVM.
He plays guitar, bass, ukulele and enjoys collecting vinyl records. He also enjoys all kinds of music ranging from Power Pop to Classical.
