Brendan has been a fan of blues music for over forty years. When he spins vinyl he does it so that the ghosts of the blues don’t haunt him. “Living in Portland during the 1980’s and being a blues fanatic was a great thing.” says Brendan, I saw three bands a week, Paul Delay, Curtis, Lloyd Jones, Bill Rhodes all the local blues and all the cats coming through town. Man, it was awesome.” Brendan went to the very first Waterfront Blues Festival in 1986 and has only missed a few since.
Brendan loves all forms of music including Americana, Soul-Funk and Rock and Roll. Brendan says, “The blues is always in the mix for me”
He got started at KRVM helping with the station membership drive by going on the air with Friday BWTB DJ Tony. “Tony would have me help answer the phones then he let me on the air for the membership drive and we would always end up speaking about the blues music.”
“I was watching Tony spin that vinyl, and I got hooked!” Brendan says.
He serves up Breakfast With The Blues on Thursday.
