David Bischoff, one of the hosts of Soundscapes, passed away suddenly on March 19. He was a volunteer DJ at KRVM for several years and also a very accomplished science fiction and television writer. He had more than a hundred books to his credit, as well as, two episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation and countless short stories, articles, teleplays, and other pieces under his own name and a variety of pen names.
Born in Washington D.C., David wrote science fiction books, short stories, and scripts for television. Though he began writing in the early 1970s, and had over 80 books published, he was best known for novelizations of popular movies and TV series including Aliens, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and WarGames.
