OHP housing benefits

People with certain health conditions covered by the Oregon Health Plan may benefit from a new program to help them stay in their homes.

The program includes six months of rent payments or utility bills, as well as pest control, grab bars, and ramp installation. Participants may also receive navigation of resources and negotiation with landlords.

Eligible persons may request these benefits before receiving an eviction notice.

The following conditions are examples of eligibility:

  • A complex physical condition
  • A complex behavioral health condition
  • A developmental or intellectual disability
  • Challenges with self-care and daily activities
  • Experience of abuse or neglect
  • Be over age 65 or under age 6
  • Pregnant or gave birth in the past 12 months
  • Repeated use of emergency room or crisis services
