Lane County Master Gardener Association Fall Festival

The Lane County Master Gardener Association invites you celebrate the fall season at its annual Fall Festival on Saturday, September 23rd from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at River Road Park and Recreation Center, 1400 Lake Drive, Eugene.
Learn research-based gardening and food preservation techniques, meet community organizations, and shop local vendors. Enjoy free workshops, tomato and heirloom apple tastings, free cider pressed on-site, a vegetable-judging activity, and kids’ activities. There will also be a bake sale, book sale, plant sale, seed swap, and store featuring items made by local Master Gardeners.
Scheduled classes are:
10:30-11:30 a.m. – “Hot and Cold Composting & Bokashi” with Rodney Bloom, OSU Extension Service Compost Specialist
10:30-11:30 a.m. – “Native Trees of Lane County” with Lauren Grand, OSU Extension Agent, Forestry and Natural Resources
12:00-1:00 p.m. – “Fall Cover Crops” with Jeff Choate, OSU Extension Horticulturist
12:00-1:00 p.m. – “Native Shrubs and Wildflowers” with Bruce Newhouse, Master Gardener
1:30-2:30 p.m. – “Glorious Garlic” with Pat Patterson, Master Gardener and retired OSU Horticulture
1:30-2:30 p.m. – “Basics of Choosing and Growing Tree Fruits” with Jim Rundall, Master Gardener Tree Fruit Specialist
1:30-2:30 p.m. – “Fermentation” with OSU Extension Master Food Preservers
1:30-2:30 p.m. – “Butterflies of Lane County” with Alison Center, North American Butterfly Association
