District Asks Community for Feedback on Recent School Buildings
Community input sought before district begins to design new schools
Three new school buildings will be built in the coming years with bond funds approved by voters in November 2018. Before beginning the design process for the new schools, Eugene School District 4J first is looking back to other recently constructed schools and seeking feedback from their users.
An online survey is intended to assess the design and performance of the district’s eight school buildings constructed since 2000. The rest of the schools in the district are more than 50 years old.
Staff, students, parents, volunteers, building renters, and other community members who are familiar with one or more of the newer school buildings are invited to provide feedback on their user experience of the facility. The 10-minute survey is available online in English and Spanish.
The 4J schools constructed since 2000 are:
- Chávez Elementary School (2004)
- Holt Elementary School (2004)
- Howard Elementary School (2016)
- River Road/El Camino del Río Elementary School (2017)
- Madison Middle School (2005)
- Cal Young Middle School (2006)
- Roosevelt Middle School (2016)
- Arts & Technology Academy (2017)
This is a first step to inform future building design. There will be additional opportunities for community input as the planning and design process moves forward.
